La Barceloneta

One of the most charming and popular neighborhoods here in Barcelona is definitely La Barceloneta. For sure it is most famous because of its sandy beaches but it is much more than just that. To get the incredible view the best way is to take a cable car ride which connects La Barceloneta with Montjuïc across Port Vell.

First ones who settled this area in the 18 century were fishermen so that’s why here you can try the best seafood in the most authentic environment and enjoy in sangria while catching the last sun reys. This neighborhood is always packed with both locals and tourists no matter which season is because there are always plenty of bars and restaurants opened during all year playing good music, serving nice coctails.

Also, if you are interested in history there is the Catalunya History Museum in which you can find out a lot about the history of Barcelona but also about the history of whole province of Catalunya. For the young ones there is Aquarium, considered to be the biggest in Europe, where you can find all the species of Mediterranean Sea.

From Hotel Ginebra (www.hotelginebra.com.es) the easiest way to arrive to La Barceloneta is to go to the Paseo de Gracia and take the metro yellow line L4 or take a bus V15 in front of El Corte Ingles and take off at the station Pg Joan de Borbó.
